Gorillaz have returned to music in a characteristically off-beat way: on Tuesday, the Damon Albarn-helmed virtual band shared a new 20-second track called "Song Machine Theme Tune." You can hear it in the clip above via Pitchfork, as well as on all streaming platforms.
Both the video and a post on the band's Instagram tease something called Gorillaz present Song Machine, and it's certainly possible that it could be a new album. The last full-length from the band, The Now Now, was released in 2018, and not long after it dropped Albarn said he was ready to record another project.
In December, Gorillaz shared their feature-length documentary Gorillaz: Reject False Icons.
