Justin Bieber has the No.1 album in the country
Changes is Bieber’s seventh chart-topping record.
Justin Bieber has debuted at No.1 with new album Changes, Billboard reports. This marks Bieber's seventh time with a chart-topping album and, at 25, ensures he is the youngest ever solo artist to achieve that total. Prior to Bieber, the youngest soloist to land seven No. 1s was Elvis Presley.
Changes was released on February 14 and features the singles "Yummy" and "Intentions." The album earned 231,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending February 20. This is down on the 649,000 units Bieber's previous album, Purpose, sold upon its release in 2015.
Billboard notes that the album’s sales were "bolstered by a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer with Bieber’s upcoming tour, and many merchandise/album bundle offers sold via Bieber’s official webstore." Bieber will head out on tour later this year alongside special guests Kehlani and Jaden Smith.
Changes is the third fastest selling album of 2020 so far after Eminem's Music to Be Murdered By (279,000) and Halsey’s Manic (239,000).
