Last week, Cardi B went viral with a video showing her flamboyantly expressing her fear of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Her video inspired remixes from artists like iMarkKeys, and his song "Coronavirus" is now rising on the iTunes Hip-Hop/Rap chart. As of Tuesday morning, it's up to No. 3.
Cardi has embraced the song's popularity. "I might eat [sic] well do a damn music video," she wrote on Twitter in response to a video of the "Coronavirus" song playing in a club in Rio De Janeiro (please do not go to any clubs during the pandemic).
Several dancers have shared videos soundtracked by "Coronavirus," which Cardi has shared on Twitter. "I’m glad yaaa having fun," Cardi wrote on Instagram of the song's success. "Make sure you lysol your pussy before you POP IT."
Last week, Cardi B announced a delay in the release of her new single due to the pandemic.
