Kid Cudi reflects on meeting Juice WRLD: “It hurts we never got to work together”
“When we met at Coachella I was surprised u were even a fan.”
Kid Cudi took to Twitter to reflect on meeting the late Juice WRLD, who passed away in December, at Coachella in 2019 and lamented missing the chance to work with the young rapper.
Cudi shared a tweet from 2018 posted by Juice WRLD telling Cudi they should collaborate. "I need to work with you legend," he wrote at the time. "It hurts we never got to work together," Cudi tweeted alongside the older message. "When we met at Coachella I was surprised u were even a fan. I didnt feel so old after all haha." He went on to share a text message between the two from the day they crossed paths. Juice WRLD has been open about the impact Cudi's music had on him and his artistry, previously telling Billboard that "Kid Cudi was all I'd listen to" at one point in his life.
Juice WRLD suffered a seizure last December in a Chicago Midway Airport terminal, later determined to be caused by oxycodone and codeine toxicity from an accidental overdose.
