Lila Drew is a 19-year-old L.A. native with a voice so smooth that it reminds you of the sunshine of her hometown. That's especially clear on track like her recent "Locket," which beautifully illustrates the feelings of heartbreak and how one can begin to move on. Today for Digital FORT, Drew gives an in-home performance of that standout, as well as a few others in an exclusive mix. For visual affect, the video also flashes to hand drawings and other small details of the singer's living space. It makes for a calmingly intimate experience.
From Drew: "Please take the time to donate (if you have the ability) to organizations such as savethechildren.org,feedingamerica.org, nokidhungry.org, firstbook.org, and onefairwage.com. They’re helping us so we should help them! Edited by the amazing Sam Martin.
Special thanks to Josie Strick, Angela Ricciardi, and Dannah Gottlieb for lending your beautiful work. And even more special thanks to Zack for filming this while doing online school!"
Digital FORT is a two-day event bringing together over 100 artists to help raise money for those hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. To find a full list of charities, funds, and resources we’re highlighting throughout FORT, click here.
