Lupe Fiasco and Kaelin Ellis share “SHOES” featuring Virgil Abloh, announce new EP
Stream the powerful first single from the forthcoming HOUSE EP now.
Lupe Fiasco teamed up with producer Kaelin Ellis to drop "SHOES," the first track from the pair's joint EP HOUSE. The powerful, bass-heavy track finds not only Lupe rapping from the perspective of an eager sneakerhead but designer Virgil Abloh describing the process of "hypothetically designing the shoes that Ahmaud Arbery was wearing when he was murdered," according to a statement about the release.
The project came together via Twitter, where Lupe Fiasco was tagged in a video of Ellis making music. After taking notice, Lupe ended up sharing his own video of himself freestyling over the production. Eventually, the pair connected and began creating what would ultimately become the forthcoming 5-song EP.
HOUSE is set to drop on July 24.
