Drake breaks Madonna’s record for most Billboard Hot 100 top 10s
With his new DJ Khaled collaborations “Popstar” and “Greece,” Drake has officially racked up 40 Billboard top 10s.
Last week, Drake released two new songs as part of a collaborative singles package with DJ Khaled. Although a fairly minor release in Drake terms, the songs — “Popstar” and “Greece” — have turned out to be fairly consequential, helping the Canadian pop megastar break the record for most Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits. With “Popstar” landing at #3 on this week’s Hot 100 and “Greece” at #8, Drake has officially racked up 40 top 10s, narrowly beating out Madonna’s 38, which he previously tied. This is Drake’s second Hot 100 record in recent months; as Stereogum notes, the rapper broke the record for most songs ranked on the Hot 100 ever, with 208 entries.
Last week, Drake released a new Headie One collab, "Only You Freestyle." The song comes only a few months after May's Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which featured a collection of leaks, loosies, and leftover album material.
