Tarrus Riley shares the uplifting “Remember Me”
The reggae icon returns with a new single from his upcoming album Healing.
Reggae icon Tarrus Riley shared the second single from his upcoming album on Thursday, “Remember Me." The uplifting track features drumming, flutes, and even background vocals from Riley's children to bring it to life.
The track, like the rest of Riley's forthcoming album Healing, was written, produced, and recorded entirely during the last few months of COVID-19-induced social distancing, and speaks to the artist's spiritual connection in trying times.
“I’m in quarantine, and it’s a song I would sing around the house,” Riley says of the song via email. “It reminds me of a devotion that kids sing in school in the morning. It’s about one man asking God, ‘I know your hands are full but, if wishes do come true, please try to grant one of mine. Remember me.”
Healing is set to drop on August 28. Listen to the track above.
