Beyoncé may not have created adding HBCU bands to rap music, but her live concert film Homecoming brought the combination more recognition and respect. And while we may never get a full-length, studio-quality version of "Everybody Mad," other rappers are picking up the thread and playing tribute to the music of HBCUs. One of them is 2 Chainz, who today shares the music video for his Lil Wayne-featuring song "Money Maker."
The clip and the song are pure celebrations. 2 Chainz and Wayne turn in rascally sex-themed lyrics over a beat that samples the Human Jukebox, the marching band from Louisiana’s Southern University. The backdrop of all this in the visuals is a bunch of marching bands, naturally, doing their joyful thing. Check it out above. "Money Maker" will appear on 2 Chainz's upcoming album So Help Me God.
