Drake's next album Certified Lover Boy was originally set to drop this month, but the rapper took to Instagram on Wednesday to push back its release date to later this year while he recovers from knee surgery.
“I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” the rapper wrote in his Instagram story in reference to a knee injury he sustained last fall. He didn't offer a new release date but indicated it would likely drop sometime this year. “I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021,” he added to the post. Drake underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL at the end of October 2020.
Drake's last studio album Scorpion dropped back in 2018.
