Faye Webster announces new album, shares “Cheers”
I Know I’m Funny haha is out on June 25.
Atlanta-based singer/songwriter Faye Webster is back with a new single "Cheers," the first single from her upcoming album I Know I’m Funny haha, out on June 25 via Secretly Canadian. A tale of love on unsure ground, "Cheers" is indie rock that buzzes with the anxiety of not being 100% sure on where you stand with someone. For the music video, director Matt Swinsky brings an "x-treme" flavor with dirt bikes, quads, and stunts that are just as fun to watch as they are out of place. I'm probably wrong, but I feel almost certain that parts of this video are shot in the same underpass as the "Bad and Bougee" visuals. Maybe it's just the bikes?
“This song has always felt like a standout from the record to me," Webster said in a press statement. "It was the kind of song where you’re like ‘oh yeah, this is the one.’ Right after the first take. It felt different to me and it made it feel like I was entering a new era and chapter for myself. It’s kind of the outlier on the record but at the same time is still so original and identifying to myself. Also it just makes me feel like a badass for once.”
Later this year, Webster will tour North America. Find those dates below:
