Kehlani has announced the upcoming release of her third album, Blue Water Road, set to drop later this year. Sharing a cinematic, nearly minute-long trailer alongside the announcement, the clip finds the singer wounded and limping down the road with a bandaged knee. A dragonfly lands in her hands before bursting into flames and growing into a towering, dark figure.
The album will serve as the follow-up to the singer's sophomore album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t, which dropped back in May 2020, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Coming out of the rubble of It Was Good Until It Wasnt and into the light, on to the road. let’s have fun,” the singer tweeted after sharing the new trailer.
Most recently, Kehlani has appeared on a number of tracks, including Lil Durk's "Love You Too," "Ur Best Friend" with Kiana Ledé, and "I Like Dat" alongside T-Pain.
