Charli XCX has shared the visuals for "New Shapes," her new single featuring Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek taken from her upcoming album CRASH. Directed by Imogene Strauss, Luke Orlando, and Terrence O’Connor, the video is streaming above.
"New Shapes" adopted an unabashedly '80s vibe, from the mall-pop synths to the snare, a sibling of the iconic hit from "She Drives Me Crazy" by Fine Young Cannibals. Of course, the chemistry between the song's three pop auteurs is something rarely seen in any genre, and all of it, from the nods to the past to the exciting future it creates, is present in the music video. It's a simple affair in concept, creating a live performance for a fake talk show called TV Heaven, but as usual, the choreography from Charli and co. is bold and on point.
CRASH is out March 18, 2022, and follows Charli's 2020 project How I'm Feeling Now. Stream CRASH's lead single "Good Ones" here.
