It would appear that Drake and Kanye West have called a ceasefire in their ongoing war of words. West, or Ye as he is now legally known, shared a picture of himself with Drake and J Prince on Tuesday night. It was captioned with a dove of peace emoji. Drake, meanwhile, posted video clips of himself and Ye socialising and spending time with comedian Dave Chappelle.
Ye appeared to make the first move toward a peaceful resolve when, last week, he reached out to Drake and invited him to appear at an upcoming Los Angeles concert designed to help free imprisoned gang leader Larry Hoover. “It’s time to put it to rest,” he said at the time.
The conflict between the two rappers has its origins in a previous Drake beef with Pusha-T. In 2018 Drake claimed that it was Ye who leaked the information that he had fathered a child to Pusha-T, leading him to tell the world via "The Story of Adidon." Ye takes clear shots at Drake on Donda track "The Life of the Party," released officially this week as part of that album's deluxe edition. He also claimed he would beat him in a VERZUZ battle during his now infamous Drink Champs episode. For his part, Drake has aimed lyrics at Ye on Certified Lover Boy song "7am on Bridle Path" and Trippie Redd collaboration "Betrayal."
