Kendrick Lamar to produce comedy film with South Park’s Trey Parker and Matt Stone
The untitled project will be written by Wonder Showzen’s Vernon Chatman.
Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free's media company pgLang has signed on with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to produce a new feature-length comedy film, Deadline reports.
The untitled film is written by Vernon Chatman, co-creator of the cult MTV dark comedy series Wonder Showzen and a writer on South Park for 20 seasons. Per Deadline, the film follows a Black man who reenacts slavery at a "living museum" who discovers that the ancestors of his white girlfriend were once the owners of his family. A director is not currently attached to the project and no release date has been announced.
