With Valentine's Day right around the corner, R&B singers are breaking out of their Holiday Shopping Soundtrack hibernation to release some tunes perfect for another lovely time of year. LVRN signee Eli Derby steps up to the plate with "Love Song," a, well, love song with a slinky groove that sounds like a submerged and murky take on a riff that the Internet would play. Check out the PG County singer's new video below.
“I wrote the song during my very first visit to Los Angeles, it was about a relationship I was in at that time," Derby said in a statement about the song. "It was going really well and it inspired me to write a love song that I could connect to, that my friends could connect to. The video mirrors that — I wanted it to be relatable to people my age, we dont all fit in one style. Also shows that love is universal, it has no boundaries or restraints.”
Last year, Derby released his debut single "Gaslight," a bubbly and stylish introduction that carried the energy of the 2000's dancier love ballads. In December, he released a stripped-back version of "Love Song" if that's the vibe you're looking for instead.
