Tame Impala shares The Slow Rush B-Sides and Remixes
The tape is an addendum to his most recent LP, featuring alternate takes, previously released loosies, and a new track: “The Boat I Row.”
Kevin Parker (Tame Impala) is gearing up for a deluxe box set release of his fourth studio album, 2020's The Slow Rush. The package — originally due out today — is now set to arrive April 8, featuring two transparent-red LPs, alternate artwork, a booklet, and a 2050 calendar. In the meantime, the Australian psych-pop polymath been dropping a string of loosies and alternate takes on songs from the album, culminating today in The Slow Rush B-Sides and Remixes.
The new tape is eight tracks long and features one entirely new song, "The Boat I Row," which finds Parker's silky falsetto washed in choral harmonies and slippery synth pads, with a funky bass groove and pocket drumming setting a steady pace underneath. Also included are pre-album single "Patience," a remix of "Breathe Deeper" with Lil Yachty, and this past December's "No Choice."
