Porridge Radio announce new album, share “Back To The Radio”
The U.K. band’s Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky is out in May.
U.K indie band Porridge Radio have announced details of a new album. Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky will be released on May 20 via Secretly Canadian with a video for new song "Back To The Radio" available below. The video immerses the band in papier-mâché and was directed by Ella Margolin, sister of Porridge Radio's Dana Margolin.
Speaking about the new song in a statement, Dana Margolin said "Back To The Radio" "feels like a huge introductory hello or a big ceremonial goodbye. I wrote it at the end of 2019 when we were gearing up for the release of Every Bad and I felt like a lot of things were coming that I wasn’t sure I knew how to handle. The song grew out of a feeling of intense loneliness and being unprepared for what everybody was promising me was about to happen – and a strong desire to escape without knowing what I wanted to escape to. To me there’s a huge feeling of catharsis in this song, of letting go and letting it sweep you away."
Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky is Porridge Radio's third album and the follow-up to their Mercury Prize-nominated 2020 release Every Bad. The band's debut, Rice, Pasta and Other Fillers, was released in 2016.
