Lizzo has returned with "About Damn Time," her first song of 2022. She teased "About Damn Time" on Instagram earlier this week with a post declaring it "SONG OF THE SUMMER." To that end, the Chic-inspired disco pop sound might accomplish her goal. In the single's music video, Lizzo escapes a "Stressed & Sexy" support group and roams the city dressed in the kind of diva outfits that would make Donna Summer smile. Check it out above.
"About Damn Time" is the first single from Lizzo's new album Special, out on July 15. It arrives 8 months after Lizzo's last song, "Rumors" with Cardi B. Last month, the three-time Grammy winner appeared on The Late Late Show where she discussed her new album which took "three freaking years" to make and previewed "About Damn Time." Lizzo's Amazon Prime Video series, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, premiered in March as well. Earlier this week, she launched a shapewear line called Yitty. Lizzo's major label debut album, Cuz I Love You, was released in 2019.
