Released in 2017, Calvin Harris's fifth studio album Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1 proved to be a sleeper hit for the megastar producer. Instead of leaning on the crowd-pleasing EDM he was known for at the time, Harris tapped into a disco-indebted sound that wasn't exactly alien to the charts at the time (you can thank Daft Punk and "Get Lucky" for that) but still represented an ambitious leap for the Scottish artist.
Fans have been eager for a follow-up – it was actually Harris's last full-length effort – and on Wednesday, Harris revealed that he'll be releasing Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2 this summer. He shared the news on Twitter with a picture of a billboard revealing the album title. See below:
Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 sported features from Young Thug, Ariana Grande, Future, Khalid, Pharrell, and Kehlani, with Frank Ocean and Migos appearing on the project's biggest hit "Slide." Since 2020, Harris has been sharing electronic music as Love Regenerator.
