Travis Scott continues return to public eye with Southside collaboration “Hold That Heat”
The new song also features Future.
Travis Scott appears alongside Future on 808 Mafia producer Southside's new song "Hold That Heat." The track marks Scott's first new music since last year's Astroworld festival that left 10 people dead and hundreds more injured.
Scott's efforts to return to the spotlight have been tentative but increasingly noticeable in the last few months, involving billboards seemingly promoting an album as well as an appearance at a Coachella after-party.
The rapper and Live Nation, the promoter behind Astroworld, are facing billions in potential damages in an Astroworld lawsuit, which was combined from hundreds of separate lawsuits into one earlier this year. 10 people were killed by compression asphyxia and hundreds were injured at the event after a crowd surge caused mass panic and injuries both serious and fatal.
A report from the Texas Task Force on Concert Safety published this week detailed five areas in which improvements are needed if another tragedy is to be avoided in future. These include to security training and communication as well as a need for consistent permitting process across the state of Texas.
