Lupe Fiasco is teaching a rap course at MIT
The Chicago rapper will join as part of the MLK Visiting Professor Program later this year.
Lupe Fiasco will be a teacher at Massachusetts Institute Of Technology next year. The Chicago rapper announced the news on Sunday with MIT also confirming the he will be part of their MLK Visiting Professor Program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Lupe Fiasco was previously a visiting artist from 2020-2021. He will be one of three new teachers at MIT with theater teacher Eunice Ferreira and documentary maker Louis Massiah also joining the university for the year.
“I been holding this for a while,” he tweeted. “I’ll put together something more sophisticated later that really captures the nuance and gravity but for now I’ll just say it straight and raw: I’m going to teach Rap at @MIT.”
Lupe Fiasco’s most recent album, Drogas Wave, dropped in 2018. He recently announced plans for a new album, Drill Music In Zion, due next month.
