It's tough to imagine the rap landscape without Juicy J, an incredibly influential hip-hop artist both solo and as a member of the pioneering rap group Three 6 Mafia. Without him, perhaps we wouldn't have heard from Pi'erre Bourne, a producer and rapper who has helped shaped contemporary rap with beats for hits like Playboi Carti's "Magnolia" (not to mention his excellent solo series The Life of Pi'erre.)
On June 22, Juicy and Pi'erre will team up for a collaborative tape. It's called Space Age Pimpin', and you can listen to its first single "This Fronto" now. Co-produced by both artists, "This Fronto" is a throwback to the early 2010s when Lex Luger synths dominated and Juicy himself was resurgent thanks to similarly defiant raps about getting as high as possible.
