The new track follows this year’s mixtape Caprisongs.
FKA twigs has kept busy this year. In addition to sharing her wonderful, eclectic mixtape Caprisongs, she's shared a number of visuals from the project and signed on to star in a remake of the action film The Crow. She's got more new songs coming this year, the first of which, "killer," is out today.
One of the poppiest tracks in twigs' catalogue, "killer" was co-produced by twigs, Jonny Coffer, and Rosalía collaborator El Guincho. Below, read twigs' statement on the new song:
‘“It’s dangerous to be a woman in love”- when at its worst the effects of heart break can define one’s trajectory much more than the beauty of the love itself, in my song ‘Killer’ I explore this concept. The navigation, the hunt and the kill. The death of promises, dreams and the future that was once promised. But like the wildest plucked roses, I find myself more beautiful delicately wilted, in shadow, forced solace, darkened at the edges and achingly thirsting to be tended to again.’
