FKA twigs has revealed in a new interview that she and Jorja Smith are cousins. The pair, who worked together on this year's "darjeeling," had no knowledge of their family status prior to their collaboration, which featured on twigs' latest mixtape, Caprisongs.
Speaking in a new interview published this week, twigs told GQ: “I’d never met her [Smith] before, and I jumped in her car with her, and I remember thinking to myself, ‘Gosh, that’s really strange. We’ve got exactly the same kind of skin.’” She added: “A few months later I was on the road to go to LA and she left me a voice note saying, ‘You’re never going to believe this, but I’ve just spoken to my dad and he’s spoken to his sister and we’re related.’”
Caprisongs was released in January and features the singles "jealousy," "papi bones," and Yung Lean collaboration "Bliss." Last week twigs shared her latest single "Killer." She will also star in an upcoming remake of '80s horror classic The Crow.
