Meg Baird announces new album Furling
The news comes alongside the record’s lead single, “Will You Follow Me Home?,” and its visual treatment.
Meg Baird has announced a new album titled Furling, her first full-length solo LP since 2015’s Don’t Weigh Down the Light. It’s scheduled to arrive on January 27 via her long-time label, Drag City, and its lead single, “Won’t You Follow Me Home?,” is out now alongside a shadowy visual treatment courtesy of Rachael Cassells.
The new song is a Fleetwood Mac-indebted jam that sets the full tableau of Baird’s wind-blown, snow-capped vocal range against a hypnotically repetitive folk-rock riff comprising guitars (electric and acoustic), percussion (kit and auxiliary), synth keys, and a methodical bass groove that keeps the track tethered to planet earth.
