The 2023 Oscar nominations for Best Original Score and Best Original Song have been announced. The 95th Academy Awards ceremony will take place on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
Rihanna and Mitski have earned their first Academy Award nomination, with Rih's “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and "This Is A Life," a song co-written by Mitski, David Byrne, and Ryan Lott, up for Best Original Song at this year’s Oscars. Lady Gaga and Bloodpop's “Hold My Hand” from TK is also nominated in the category, alongside songs by Dianne Warren ("Applause" from Tell It Like A Woman), and M. M. Keeravani, ("Naatu Naatu"from RRR). Find the list of nominated tracks below.
In Best Original Score, meanwhile, the nominees include Son Lux (Everything Everywhere All At Once) and John Williams (The Fabelmans). They’ll face off against Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet On The Western Front), Justin Hurwitz (Babylon), and Carter Burwell (The Banshees of Inisherin).

A24's sci-fi comedy hit Everything Everywhere All At Once kept its underdog streak rolling with 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan). The Banshees of Inisherin, The Fablemans, and All Quiet On The Western Front also secured several nominations each.
