Lil Wayne has shared a new song called "Kant Nobody" featuring a posthumous appearance from DMX. The song is produced by Avenue and Swizz Beatz, DMX's longtime collaborator. A sample of a DMX interview can be heard at the song's beginning, and his iconic bark punctuates the rest of the track.
Speaking with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, Wayne hinted that the song was made in reaction to Billboard's list of the Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time — Wayne came in at No. 7. "Everyone around me knows that I don’t do social media... With that said, my bro Mac said he was a little upset about something that came out about rap or something like that?"
He continued: "Man, who the hell is before me? Was the list including ALL hip hop, like before and after as well? I can deal with that… I will tell you that I am a motherf***ing 1. Everybody whose names you named, they also know I’m number one. Go ask 'em. They know what it is."
This spring, Wayne will embark on a tour of North America. He appeared at the 2023 Grammys this month with Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, and many more rap luminaries past and present for a celebration of hip-hop's 50th anniversary.
