Bad Bunny has moved to distance himself from an image projected on a screen during his Coachella 2023 headline set that appeared to diss Harry Styles. The image in question was presented in the style of an online comment that stated: "goodnight benito could do as it was but harry could never do el apagon."

The image appeared on screen behind Bad Bunny after he performed "El Apagón," a track from his 2022 album Un Verano Sin Ti. On Monday a rep for the Puerto Rican artist told Rolling Stone that he did not approve the image while declining to comment further. .

Sturdy.Co, the company that provided the background visuals for Bad Bunny's Coachella set, put out a public statement, via Instagram, to clarify the thinking behind the image. "Our intention is to create light hearted designs that embody Bad Bunny’s personality and amplify the experience he presents as a performer. The request from the artist during the visuals for ‘El Apagón’ performance was to use the image only and not text from the tweet, which we take responsibility for and correct it for Friday’s performance. These visuals are a celebration of Bad Bunny and his dedication to empowering his native island, Puerto Rico."

Bad Bunny followed his Coachella headline appearance by sharing new song "un x100to," a collaboration with Mexican six-piece Grupo Fontera. He is scheduled to return to Coachella for the second weekend of the festival on April 21-23.
