Charli XCX cast in new Faces of Death movie
Daniel Goldhaber, director of Cam and How To Blow Up A Pipeline, will helm the adaptation of the gore and horror anthology.
Before LiveLeak, there was Faces of Death, a VHS series beloved by gorehounds worldwide for its collection of clips depicting real-life brutality and staged violence. A feature film adaptation of the videos is in the works, The Wrap reports, and Charli XCX is attached to appear in her first non-voice acting role.
The new adaptation will be directed by Daniel Goldhaber (Cam, How To Blow Up A Pipeline). Goldhaber is the co-writer of the screenplay with Isa Mazzei. “Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes," Goldhaber and Mazzei said in a press statement, "and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online.”
The new Faces of Death will co-star Euphoria's Barbie Ferreira and Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things). The film is currently in production in New Orleans. In other Charli XCX film news, she's writing new music for the upcoming A24 film Mother Mary.
