Oneohtrix Point Never is part of the Star Wars universe now
Daniel Lopatin provides the music for the new Disney+ animated series Visions: Vol 2.
For many years now Daniel Lopatin, a.k.a. Oneohtrix Point Never, has been involved in the world of TV and movie music, notably scoring the Safdie brothers' movies Good Time and Uncut Gems. Now he can add Star Wars to his resume. On Thursday (May 4, Star Wars Day) he dropped a collection of music recorded for the Disney+ animated series Star Wars: Visions Vol. 2. Last year, Lopatin contributed “The Viewing Suite” to the soundtrack to Guillermo Del Toro’s Netflix series Cabinet of Curiosities. He is also a key collaborator of The Weeknd, working with him on recent albums After Hours and Dawn FM as well as his 2021 Super Bowl half-time show. Earlier this year the pair confirmed they are working on a feature film together, to be directed by Trey Edward Shults.
Star Wars: Visions Vol. 2 debuted on Disney+ on May 4. The anthology show comprises a series of animated shorts, produced by acclaimed studios including Cartoon Saloon, Aardman Animations, and anime company D’art Shtajio.
