Song You Need: Vayda and NoGumHundo are the “topic”
The two rappers spin endless frustration into gold on the track from Vayda’s mixtape breeze.

Vayda might sound effortlessly cool, but beneath her wispy triplet flow is the undercurrent of someone who is really, really pressed. Fuckboys, biters, and leeches are everywhere, and “topic” is the sound of someone who's reached their limit. "Why the fuck my past is always a topic?/Always in drama just like a damn moshpit" she sighs as distorted 808s pound a cheerful piano-driven jazz sample into submission, her flow sounding a bit like Ice Spice recovering from a migraine. Georgia rapper NoGumHundo's verse dials back the frustration and juggles the neverending deluge of frauds with a gold-toothed grin and some killer barbs: "You claim you a stepper but ain't got no feet/You act like it's beef but you really a vegan/You tryna be biting but ain't go no teeth." It's this exchange of hot and cold that makes "topic" such a well-balanced and cathartic blast for anyone suffering the miseries of other people.
