Sum 41 announce breakup
The Canadian rock band have been together for the last 27 years.
Sum 41 are calling it quits. Known for their early 2000 pop-punk hits, such as "In Too Deep," "Fat Lip," and "Still Waiting," the Canadian band from Ontario have been together since 1996, going through several iterations of bandmates. The group currently consists of Deryck Whibley, Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker, and Frank Zummo.
The band are currently working on their eighth studio album Heaven :x: Hell and are planning a final world tour to celebrate. "Being in Sum 41 since 1996 brought us some of the best moments of our lives," they posted on social media. "We are forever grateful to our fans both old and new, who have supported us in every way. It is hard to articulate the love and respect we have for all of you and we wanted you to hear this from us first."
The band is currently on tour and are planning a final world tour to celebrate, they said. Sum 41 will also be dropping their last album, Heaven :x: Hell, although no details of the release date have been made public yet.
