Twine, an indie rock band based in Adelaide, Australia, use their collective muscle as a sticking plaster. Though there are only five members in their ranks, together Twine conjour up a mighty racket, with violinist Thea Martin adding additional layers to the rest of their bandmates' boisterous and clattering sound. "My God" was mastered by Alex Farrar, who most recently worked on Wednesday's Rat Saw God and personally reached out to the band. It's not hard to see the connection he made; both bands deal in uncomfortable feelings and brash soundscapes.

"My God" begins slowly, with vocalist Thomas Katsaras receiving divine intervention through his TV set. The song then switches the holy for something more carnal as Katsaras begins to sing of fluttering eyes and skin that "burns with all seasons." It's clear he's trying to resist the feelings but the defense is slowly cracking. Every slab of feedback from the guitars adding to the inevitable breaking point. "Nothing grows so nothing rots," he sings with a bittersweet sadness before turning with a glint in his eye and concluding, "Nothing else makes me feel so hot."
