It’s always a good day for music videos when SZA drops. The alt-R&B pop star, once again, comes correct with the visuals for her song “Snooze,” the latest single from her excellent late-2022 album, SOS.
The new video is directed by Bradley J. Calder and tracks a handful of different SZA-starring romantic relationships from bliss to dissolution. Starring as SZA’s other halves are Justin Bieber, Young Mazino of the Netflix dramedy Beef, superproducer Benny Blanco, and Power Book II: Ghost’s Woody McClain. All of her paramours are no match, though, for the robot in a fitted cap that gets a lap dance from SZA near the video’s end. It’s never been more urgent to prevent machines from taking the jobs of human beings.
Watch the new video above. Believe it or not, “Snooze” is only SZA’s second music video of the year, following visuals for her No. 1 hit “Kill Bill.” In 2022 she shared clips for “I Hate U,” “Shirt,” and “Nobody Gets Me.” The visuals for SOS’s second-biggest hit, “Good Days“ were released all the way back in 2021.
