Nicki Minaj has put aside her emcee duties at the 2023 MTV VMAs temporarily to perform a new untitled song, as well as the first single from her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2, "Last Time I Saw You." Watch the footage below.
Nicki Minaj has five VMA nominations this year — Video of the Year presented by Burger King, Best Hip-Hop, Best Visual Effects (all for her hit "Super Freaky Girl"), Artist of the Year, and Best R&B ("Love in the Way" with Yung Bleu). She's also nominated for the Song of the Summer award, which is selected by fan vote via MTV's Instagram story.
On November 17, Nicki Minaj will release her new album Pink Friday 2. The project was originally scheduled for a summer release but was pushed back. Its lead single "Last Time I Saw You" was released on September 1. This year she's appeared with Ice Spice on two hit songs: a remix of "Princess Diana" and "Barbie World" from the Barbie soundtrack.
