Megan Thee Stallion is no longer performing at the
2023 Global Citizen Festival in NYC.
Over the weekend, Global Citizen confirmed via Twitter that the rapper won’t be able to take the stage for what was supposed to her headlining set.
The revelation came after the organization replied to a fan who noticed Megan wasn’t included on the official lineup for the event, even though her photo was initially used to promote the festival. In response, Global Citizen said the Houston MC had to pull out “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”
Megan’s representatives and Global Citizen have yet to respond to requests for further details. That said, there are still plenty of big names set to take the festival stage, including BTS star Jungkook, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Conan Gray, and more.
The Global Citizen takes place on the Great Lawn in NYC's Central Park on September 23. Tickets are free for those who sign up to help Global Citizen with their mission to end extreme poverty.
