OLAN wants to make sure you know she’s not just a vocalist. The Canadian multi-instrumentalist and producer is showing how far her talents span doing live sets on tour with Odesza right now. Known for her tender, slow-building ballads, the she’s showing listeners a different side with her newest single, “Feel For You.”
Heavy with fragmented breaks, pulsing drums, and chopped-up vocal samples, it’s a dynamic yet introspective tune that’s as fit for a warehouse as it is on your morning commute. The track’s reverberating four-on-the-floor beat and dazed vocals tie it nicely into her house-heavy catalog, but it also brings an unpolished rawness that longtime fans have been craving to hear from her.
“Feel For You” marks a new era for OLAN. “I wanted this new song to be more optimistic considering how disappointed I felt about where I was in my career and the people I had around me at the time,” she told The FADER. “I needed something that felt like it was truly made for me and my own happiness.”
