Bb trickz caught the internet's ear with a stolid, effortlessly cool flow and exciting beat selection — no wonder the Catalan rapper has a cosign from Veeze, whose breakout track "Law N Order" got a drill-inspired flip on trickz's "Missionsuicida." That same spark is on display on Sadtrickz, her new EP out today.
As on her debut EP Trickstar, sample drill is the foundation of Sadtrickz, its intuitive flips, distorted kicks, and twinkling hi-hats sparsely scattered just as you'd expect to hear from NYC's Cash Cobain (who produces an eponymous track on Sadtrickz). It can be heard drifting across the six new songs and into other genres, including emo-rap ("Paso"), heartbroken Summer Walker-esque R&B ("Deja a tu novia"), and one truly addictive sampling of Brian Eno's "By the River" ("Llorando en la prada").
