Beyoncé’s Christmas Day halftime show was Beychella all over again
Watch the pop star bring out Post Malone, Shaboozey, Blue Ivy, and legions of dancers.
It might've been Christmas, but Beyoncé wasn't resting. On December 25, the super star took over the halftime show during the NFL's Christmas Day match between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens, where she performed songs from Cowboy Carter for the first time and brought out special guests Shaboozey and Post Malone.
She kicked off her performance, which was livestreamed on Netflix, in dramatic style: on horseback in a dazzling all-white ensemble while belting her intimate ballad “Sixteen Carriages.” Once she reached the field, it turned into an all-out spectacle on par with her legendary Beychella performance from 2018.
Joined by hundreds of dancers (also dressed in white), she ran through a setlist that included the debut live performances of “Jolene” and “Blackbiird.” For the latter, she was joined on stage by Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts, the four singers featured on the song.
Post Malone and Shaboozey also appeared for energetic performances of “Levii’s Jeans” and “Sweet Honey Buckiin.” Eagle-eyed viewers would've also been able to spot Blue Ivy among the dancers.
But that wasn't the end to the surprises: Following her performance, Bey teased the date January 14, 2025 in a video — perhaps the date of another album? Single? Tour announcement? Only she knows.
See clips of her performance below. Her full performance will be available to stream on Netflix until 11 p.m. ET on December 25.
Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter was released in March 2024 and recently netted the singer 11 Grammy nominations, bringing her lifetime number of nominations to 99 — the most by a single artist in history.
In 2019 Jay-Z's Roc Nation struck a deal with the NFL to produce the Super Bowl half-time show. That deal was extended earlier in 2024, with Kendrick Lamar set to take over the coveted time slot at the 2025 event.
