The Weeknd has dropped his new studio album Hurry Up Tomorrow. The album was originally due for release last week (January 24) followed by a one-night-only Rose Bowl concert. However, the album release was postponed and the live show pulled as a mark of respect to those affected by the L.A. wildfires. Proceeds from the album track "Take Me Back To L.A." will be donated to the L.A. Regional Food Bank.
Production credits for the 22-track Hurry Up Tomorrow remain TBA but the album has a host of features, as confirmed to The FADER via a rep for The Weeknd. Among them is Lana Del Rey, who appears on "The Abyss." The pair previously worked together on the songs "Lust For Life," "Prisoner," and "Stargirl Interlude."
The album opener "Wake Me Up" features French duo Justice while another legend of electronic music, Giorgio Moroder, appears on "Big Sleep." Hurry Up Tomorrow also throws up an unlikely pair in Florence & the Machine and Travis Scott, who both pop up on "Reflections Laughing."
The Weeknd released a string of singles in the run-up to dropping Hurry Up Tomorrow with "São Paulo" (feat. Anitta) and "Timeless" (feat. Playboi Carti) both appearing on the finished album. The final guest on the album is Future, who makes a cameo on "Enjoy The Show."
Hurry Up Tomorrow is the final chapter in The Weeknd's trilogy series and follows After Hours (2020) and 2022's Dawn FM. Abel Tesfaye has repeatedly said he is thinking of retiring The Weeknd alias following the release of the album.
