Yung Lean has confirmed his new album, Jonatan, will be released on May 2. The album is Lean's first solo project since 2022's Stardust and will feature the single "Forever Yung." A music video for the song, directed by Aidan Zamiri, can be seen below.
Speaking to i-D, Zamiri (who is also directing Charli xcx's upcoming A24 movie) said the "Forever Yung" video “aims to reflect Jonatan’s whole life and career,” and is “an important milestone for us both.” Sad Boys members Yung Sherman and Gud both make appearances in the clip, in which Lean hosts his own funeral.
Since dropping Stardust Lean has released music under the moniker Jonatan Leandoer96 (2023’s Sugar World) and shared collaborative albums with Gud (Död Mark 4Evigt) and Bladee (Psykos).
In addition to making music, Lean has also made his acting debut in the upcoming movie Sacrifice from French director Romain Gavras. He stars in the film alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans.
