Turnstile are back. Four years after dropping Glow On, one of 2021's most acclaimed rock albums, the Baltimore group will share their fifth album Never Enough on June 6 via Roadrunner. The project will be Turnstile's first with Meg Mills, touring guitarist who recently joined the group as a permanent member.
Below, you can hear the new album's title track. As the band did with the singles from Glow On, here "Never Enough" showcases how they're attempting to push their sound beyond the ostensible "hardcore" tag they're pegged in. It opens with frontman Brendan Yates singing over a wash of synths, building to an explosion of guitars that sounds like a time-stretched version of the sound you might be used to. A focus on melody has never hurt Turnstile, and they're making the most of it here.
The song's music video, streaming below, is directed by Yates and Pat McCrory. It features the band separately in various locales – on a jetski, in a tundra, desert, crosswalk, etc – before joining forces on stage near the end.
