
Solange Knowles has announced a programme of events to take place in Houston, Texas this summer.
The Eldorado Ballroom Houston series was curated by Knowles and Saint Heron in partnership with Performing Arts Houston. It will comprise of live music and film screenings from June 10-20 at three Houston venues; Jones Hall, The Museum of Fine Arts and the historic Eldorado Ballroom. Artists and DJs due to appear across the six events include Liv.e, Kara Jackson, OG Ron C, DJ Slim K, and Crystalmess. The opening night, titled On Dissonance, will feature the Houston Symphony performing orchestral compositions by Solange, plus Julia Perry and Tania León.
Press materials describe the six nights of music as comprising, "a celebration of Black female classical composers and orchestral works, powerful convocations of devotional spiritual and gospel music, evenings at the Eldorado Ballroom exploring contemporary music and performance art, an evening honoring the roots of black folk and zydeco music, and a celebration of Houston’s musical legacy viewed through a futurist lens with a deep focus on the enduring influence of Chopped and Screwed and the innovative musical contributions from our city’s Nigerian and broader African communities." In addition to evenings of live performance, the series includes two free screenings of Saint Heron’s Monuments Are Here, a short film about Parliament Funkadelic vocalist Gene “Shady The Great” Thomas.

Knowles first debuted the Eldorado Ballroom at BAM in New York City in 2023 and a subsequent event at Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles in October 2024. Tickets for Eldorado Ballroom Houston will be available to the public from April 22 at 10 AM CST, at performingartshouston.org.
