As dubstep fractures and its splinters get bedded under the nails of everyone from James Blake to Will.i.am, it's the less expected tangents that are the most interesting. Raime, a British production duo popping up here and there on UK year-end lists and frequently on FACT, whose Kiran Sande releases their music on his Blackest Ever Black label. The songs take the dub half about as far from the club as you can imagine, to the pitch black forest beyond the suburbs. There is no step. BEB's soundcloud indicates a commitment to this gloom beyond Raime, as well. And just for good measure, techno luminary Regis remixed "This Foundry," the song that set it all off.
