There's really not a lot that's preventing Raime from playing Carnegie Hall. Okay, actually, there is so much that is preventing Raime from playing Carnegie Hall. Not the least of which is how their music has a perpetual sense of uneasy foreboding. That said, their previous material worked because of what it implied, the ideas that it would touch on but never quite embrace. Listening to Raime's older material felt like trying to bottle wind. "Your Cast Will Tire" is all woodblock percussion and an uneasy slither of strings. It's tense and beautiful at the same time. Raime's album Quarter Turns Over a Living Line is out November 19th on Blackest Ever Black.
