Times have sure changed since "Nextel Chirp." Earlier this month, hard-to-google Florida rapper Money released a remix of his track "Plays on my Phone". At the same time, on the other side of the country, Chicago rapper Mank Jilla released "Phone Stay Jumpin," which—I checked—is not the same beat. Both of these tracks, despite their strong similarities, bang pretty hard. They were both produced by cell phone maestro Twan Beat Maker. He could probably pump out a few more in this vein and if he did, I wouldn't be mad. (If you agree, he has tracks for sale or lease at http://www.beatsforsalenow.com.) That said, as an old head, I have a special spot in my heart for Yo Gotti and Zed Zilla's analog approach. Mank Jilla is also a skilled performer. Witness his old school Chicago double time flow here.
