The Jacka has pulled back in the past two years or so, at least relative to his run from 2005's The Jack Artist through 2009's Tear Gas. This week he released The A.R. Street Album, a project throughout which he plays a supporting role, supplying hooks and occasional guest verses, in an effort to help introduce the artists in his Artist Records label lineup: Dubb 20, Street Knowledge and Joe Blow. The first two appear on "Cold World," one of the album's highlights.
