19-year old Queens rapper Bryant Dope celebrates his signing to Partisan imprint Young One Records—the same label as Queens trio Children of the Night, Oakland's Main Attrakionz and Houston's Fat Tony—with walking-paced head thumper "Champion Sound," featuring a Smif-n-Wessun sample flipped by producer Hannibal King. Dope doesn't quite match the advanced lyricism of other-borrough upstart (and previous collaborator) Joey Bada$$ yet, but he seems intent on getting there. Champion Sound" will appear on Dope's New New York mixtape, out this fall; download the track below, followed by his 2011 "Queens Kids" video.
