Nothing like waking up to a new Cold Showers song that is as pregnant with self-doubt as the rest of their catalog. This is a band that does insecurity well—not quite romanticizing it so much as boiling it down to its essence, packing it into melancholy pop nuggets and then presenting it with just enough distance that it never veers into self-indulgent moping. Writing good songs about weird feelings is hard, but Cold Showers consistently nail it. "The Fire" comes from Cold Showers' upcoming "Still Life" 7-inch, out June 25th on Dais.
